This is our last ‘NEWSLETTER’ for 2019 – a year that has seen many changes to regulations in the ‘Rental Sector’ of the market – some good and some bad, but changes that we all have to abide too.
You may be aware that ‘legislation’ by the UK Government for Rental properties required that on ANY NEW Tenancy from 1st of April 2018 the EPC rating needed to achieve an ‘E’ rate from that date. The law now requires ALL existing tenancies to be with a MINIMUM EFFICIENCY rating of ‘E’ by April 2020 – so any properties you may have must be an ‘E’ rating or ‘Exempt’ by April 2020. As Landlords you need to prepare for this and if work is required to upgrade your property we highly recommend you start to look now at contacting your EPC Assessor.
